Blazer Gives to the Peace Officers’ Memorial Colorado Springs
Encore Electric and Blazer Electric Supply team up to donate lighting for the Peace Officers’ Memorial in Colorado Springs. Blazer provided the lighting and some pre-fabrication work. Encore Electric provided installation of the lighting for this memorial project.
Each one of the badges is a 3-D replica of actual law enforcement badges, covering El Paso and Teller counties, for the 23 active law enforcement agencies. Including: El Paso County Sheriff, Teller County Sheriff, CSPD, FBI, CIA, Fountain Police, Fountain Police, Woodland Park police, USAFA, Peterson Field, Ft. Carson, Schriever AFB, etc. There are two extra spaces in the wall for any future peace officer agencies that may come to our region.
They call the blue lighting “The Thin Blue Line”—“The Thin Blue Line is a phrase used by law enforcement. The phrase refers figuratively to the position of law enforcement in society as a bulwark between order and anarchy.”
The lion is a replication of the “Dying Lion” also known as “The Lucerne Lion”. http://lucerne.all-about-switzerland.info/lucerne-lion-monument-pictures-history.html
18 members of Team Blazer and their families stepped out to support Special Kids Special Families in their annual Bowl-a-thon. Bowlers raised funds through pledges and participants made donations. In total, over $8,000 was raised to support SKSF programming to ensure that SKSF can continue to provide respite and child care services to our region for families of children and adults with disabilities.
2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s
This year Blazer led again in donations for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and surpassed last year’s donations! Blazer was able to raise $15,398, $3000 more than the previous year. Out of that $15,398, $2000 of that was matched by Blazer. Over all Blazer’s contributions were about 12% of the entire city’s contribution. A special thanks to all those at Blazer who helped contribute to make this happen and we look forward to seeing everyone next year!
2017 Trade Show and Steak Fry
We had over 200 customers and over 30 vendors attend the event this year. The wire off competitions drew a lot of customer attention with Craig Mabis officiating. We had 3 very happy customers walk away with Bronco game tickets as well as Will from Berwick going home with a big screen TV. This was our best event to date and it is all due to the customer service and loyalty of our people. A special thank you goes out to Amber for picking up the ball and assembling a great crew to get the preparation and day of event tasks all completed to a high level.
2017 Charity Golf Tournament
The 2017 Charity Golf Tournament had a bit of a twist this year. As customers, vendors, and Blazer employees pulled into the Bear Dance Golf course, they discovered that the course had been fogged in. Players couldn’t find the flag on the first several holes, but as the morning progressed it turned into a great day for golf. During the Shotgun Scramble, players got the chance to win at several competitions, including closest to the line, longest drive, drive with Blazer prefabbed Drivers, etc.
After the 18 holes, everyone gathered at the clubhouse to eat and participate in the awards ceremony. $30,000 was raised from the tournament to support the Independent Electrical Contractors and the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
